Works with what you already use.
MILK connects to the payment terminal, payment provider and printers a café already runs on — so switching to MILK doesn't mean starting again, and you keep your own merchant agreements and rates.
EFTPOS NZ
Take card payments through your EFTPOS NZ terminal, connected to the till by Verifone VCloud. The till sends the amount to the terminal, so nobody keys it in twice.
- Tips, surcharges and cash out through the terminal
- Split payments across cash and as many cards as you like
- Refunds go back to each card the way it was paid
- The card receipt prints on your MILK docket
- Card takings reconciled against the terminal batch at cash-up
Setting it up: ask EFTPOS NZ to switch VCloud on for your terminal. Some terminals change over on the spot, others need a settings download, so start a week or two before you go live. Then pair it in MILK's settings with the terminal's serial number.
Stripe
QR and online orders are paid with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card, straight into your café's own Stripe account. Stripe's card fee is between you and Stripe — MILK adds nothing on top.
- Apple Pay, Google Pay and card
- Paid into your own Stripe account, not ours
- Refunds from the till or your Stripe dashboard
Setting it up: we connect your Stripe account when we set up Mobile Ordering with you. Already have one? Use it.
Receipt printers
Any network receipt printer that speaks ESC/POS — which most café printers do. Use the printer you already have rather than buying one brand's.
- Customer receipts and dockets
- Opens the cash drawer on a cash sale
iPad
Any iPad running iPadOS 18 or later — an iPad mini is plenty at the counter. Run as many as you need as tills, kitchen screens or the staff clock, at no extra cost.
- Unlimited iPads per location
- Kitchen display screens with no per-screen fee
On a different EFTPOS provider?
Tell us which one. We're adding more providers, and knowing what cafés use is how we choose the next one.
